The figures in UNKNOWN have no names, no stories, no distinct faces. They are present, yet they remain unrecognised. Like the people you pass every day. Like memories losing their detail. Like the parts of your own identity you can no longer name.
Raw surfaces, abrasions, cracks and the marks of layer upon layer are not a background. They are part of the figure. Sometimes they reveal it, sometimes they almost erase it.
Black, white, concrete greys and gold hold the tension between what lasts and what is disappearing. The red that surfaces here and there is not decoration. It is interference - the trace of an emotion, a mistake, or something that could not be wiped away.
